Say you love to fish, but you really want to experience some of the other great recreational opportunities in Homer? Consider a package involving the following activities:
If your are primarily interested in viewing wildlife and scenery, yet would like to learn about the history of the area, we will share information about the history of the bay as we cruise the bay or hike the south-side trails. We suggest you consider some of the trips under 3 above. We will orient our trips to see some historical sites, and talk about the history of the bay.
If recent and cultural history is what interests you, may wish consider a trip to the inner bay (east of Homer Spit/Gull Island), outer bay, and possibly a trip to the outer coast. Trips may include a stop a the beach. Sample trips may include:
On outer coast trips, drop offs are available after July 15th to village of Port Graham. Activities would include a stay or one or more nights at J&L Scenic Adventutes, with optional village tours and scenic/wildlife viewing side trips.
We reserve the best low (negative) tides for tidepooling, or an exploration of Kachemak Bay's diverse rocky intertidal beaches. Tidepooling makes a great combination with wildlife viewing, cultural history, a half-day hike, a picnic on the beach or a boat, or a stop at a southside restaurant at the community of Seldovia to make an enoyable, educational, and relaxing trip.
If hiking is your passion, we can work with you to provide a variety of guided trips in the State Park. See to Day Trip section that could be combined to develop a trip that best meets your needs, interests, and abilities. Also, please contact us for a list and further information on the hikes that are available.

A luck day king fishing ... a 42 pound fish.

Four happy fisherman, with and an average day's catch.

May 31, 2008 ... if only they bought a Derby ticket, the 177 pound fish on left would have won the May's largest fish of the month.

Grewingk Glacier up close, with man's best friend.

You never know what surprises you might see tidepooling. This sea star was trying to ear this sea cucumber (above). It had inverted it's stomach (below)to in attempt to eat sea cucumber (see white spot on the sea cucumber).
